Bawdsey Manor Built by Sir Cuthbert Quilter in the late 1890s, Bawdsey Manor, with its fairytale towers and spires, is set in 150 acres of historic parkland overlooking the Deben estuary. Bawdsey Manor Gardens The Boathouse sources freshly picked salads and vegetables direct from Bawdsey Manor Gardens. The Manor’s four-acre walled kitchen garden has been restored over several years.

T-Block Museum In 1936 Bawdsey Manor became a top-secret research establishment for the Ministry of Defence, and it was here that Sir Robert Watson Watt and his team developed radar technology. From Bawdsey a chain of radar stations ran around the south coast to defend Britain during World War II.
